Suzanne, Amy, Megan & Steve outside one of Temecula's Antique Stores
After rushing around Los Angeles yesterday we needed a more relaxing day. So today we went to Temecula which is about 20 minutes south of where we live. Old Town Temecula on Front Street has a lovely atmosphere to it with that "Old America" type feel, antique stores, places to eat etc. We took a walk & did some shopping.
Front Street, Temecula
Temecula is also known for its wineries. It has over 30 wineries along Rancho California Road so it would have been rude not to show Steve & Suzanne at least a couple and combine with some tasting!
We went to Thornton's for lunch which has a nice patio to sit outside. On week-ends Thorntons is packed with people and there is usually some live Jazz going on as well. Today was nice and quiet being a Thursday but we had a lovely lunch with a flight of wine.

Lunch at Thornton's
Outside Falkner Winery
After lunch we drove up the street to Falkner's (one of our favourite wineries) & did some more tasting. The 2009 Sauvignon Blanc was a hit with Steve. He is holding his purchase above.
Our Community Pool in Canyon Hills
We finished the day with a swim at our local Community Pool. It is a short walk from home, and all the local homeowners pay into an association (HOA) for use of the pool along with upkeep of the grounds & local area. Jen then cooked a fantastic Pork Loin for dinner, accompanied by another bottle of Steve's Sauvignon Blanc. A perfect day !!
